Other animals that get into your attic such as Squirrels, Raccoons, Opossums, etc. can do tremendous damage. Enough droppings, urine and animal odors may actually make your home or office uninhabitable until the issue is resolved. Once the animals are removed, you may need to have the droppings vacuumed and the insulation replaced. If a mother raccoon has her babies in your attic your sheetrock may also need repair.

Raccoons can and will cause tremendous damage to gain entry to a "safe" nesting location, which often may be your home or business.

If they are, and you seal the areas prematurely with the mother left outside, she will do whatever is necessary to gain access to her young. One of customers lived by a lake. He had a huge stain on the ceiling of his living room with terrible odor. We found a mother raccoon and young babies happily living in his attic. They had been there a while. There was a pile of clamshells that the mother raccoon had dug out of the lake and brought into the attic to eat. After trapping and removing the mother and babies, this customer needed sheetrock repair and much of his attic insulation replaced. Unfortunately a builder sealed up a house without realizing that these baby raccoons were inside. They had to be rescued and taken to a wildlife rehabilitation location. The mother returned and tore her way into the attic looking for her babies.
